City of Walla Walla Curbside Recycling

Why doesn't the City of Walla Walla go back to a private contractor for curbside recycling? In the past the private contractor did the job with only 2 employees instead of 4 employees. Wouldn't that provide more funding for some of the other projects that the city REALLY needs?

We need comingled curbside recycling and green waste pickup as mandatory components of the garbage service. We cannot keep sending recyclble materials to the dump- it is not environmentally sustainable. We need the convenience of curb-side pickup to help us do the right thing!
