School Bonds....
Sep 20 2007, 9:07 PM EDT | Post edited: Sep 20 2007, 9:07 PM EDT
As a resident of the Milton-Freewater School district, I have voted against every school bond issue to build new schools. First of all, they have gotten ahead of themselves and purchased a piece of property with an old building on it...which they included in the latest bond measure. HOW WRONG IS THAT!!! Milton-Freewater doesn't need new schools, but better teachers. I have heard many stories from students who say that the teacher just hands the book and tells the read, while they play on a computer or even a game boy! I will not be sending my children to Mac Hi....that is the last place I will send my children to school. 11  out of 13 found this valuable. Do you?

You ever heard the phrase ID 10 Tango? It's police lingo for IDIOT.

I lived in Freewater for 30 years and waited for people like you to give us a decent school and a new library when I was growing up. None of the bonds or levies ever passed, and we lost our busses and our hot lunches and our pride. I just wanted to be the first to say thanks allot for nothing.

Now, go get your own forum. Maybe you can call it "Not Funding our Kids Dot Com" or "Freewater, Second Class Citizens for Life Dot Com", or even better, "Freewater, Second Class Citizens by CHOICE Dot Com". I bet the other people in Milton-Freewater wished they had enough money to send their kids to another school too.

It is attitudes like this that make Milton Freewater the way it is. Rather than vote no for schools, why don't you vote yes and contribute your time to making your community a better place? Complaining and making teachers scapegoats certainly won't make your town a better place to live. Take positive action for change. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Whoever you are, I want you to know that you are fully responsible for making society suck. When I attended Freewater elementary, I got seriously ill as did many other students who were in the older section of the school building. That was back in the 90's. I can guarantee that that had nothing to do with the teachers being bad at their jobs. The fact that people like you have voted the school bonds down shows a serious lack of concern people have for the youth in the community. I had many good teachers and the reason some of them might suck now is because you and the rest of Milton-Freewater put very little effort into helping the education system. Also I'd consider the fact that very few students go on to college a flaw in the parents and the way they raise their kids. My brother graduated from Mac-Hi and he's now a law student at U of CA Berkeley. So don't blame it on the teachers but yourself and the rest of the community for creating a society full of ignorant uncaring people. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
